HISTORY

Iona University is proud to be the home of the local sorority Delta Theta Beta, founded in 1984 by 16 inspiring sisters. This organization was built on the ideals of Greek unity, with a mission to provide a supportive and empowering environment for young women. Through the decades, Delta Theta Beta has continued to expand and grow, creating a legacy of sisterhood and service that will remain strong for years to come.

In 1985, Maria Romano initiated “Greek Weekend” which has been a part of Greek life ever since. Every year during the spring semester all fraternities and sororities gather together for a week to promote Greek unity to its highest potential. Delta Theta Beta is known around campus for supporting not only each other but all other organizations. The initiation of “Greek Week” has heavily sparked every sister's interest in promoting Greek unity.

Ever since the beginning, all sisters of DTB have contributed to the Iona University community in numerous ways.
